I bought a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid and for the first two years mpg averaged 46! At 55,000 I had the Honda Dealer do the standard warranty maintenance, plus 4 new tires specially designed to give hybrids the best mpg. Immediately the mpg dropped to 36! And 2,000 miles later they have not been able to determine what is wrong. Any ideas???

So what's the cost on the environment of producing a car with two engines and chemical batteries, disposing of it afterwards and all the associated waste energy of dragging a redundant engine around all the time?

40 miles on one charge... there's still a very long way to go. That gets me to work each day, not how about getting home?

How about charging it every day. I'm sure we're all gonna fit mains sockets outside on the roadway for us to plug in to, or maybe we'll just have an extension cord out of the front window.

So in a big city where people fight for parking spaces just where are they gonna get it powered up, parking two blocks away from home?

The car is as stupid as it is green. Solves a problem for less than 1% of road users/vehicles. Very short sighted - the whole industry needs to get some common sense.
