I’ve done tell you about hybrid cars and electric cars. Now  its time to tell you about smart cars. Smart cars are manufactured by a Micro Compact Car AG. The company has its’ headquarters in Switzerland and produces a lot of its cars in France.

Smart cars were create for European cities dwellers and was designed to be light on fuel and be easy to park. It is awfully small when compared with the average American car. With so much highway driving in this country, it seems that a high impact, high speed crash would be devastating for the occupants of Smart cars.

One of the most important aims of the smart cars is to enable driverless commuting. Smart cars are also expected to ensure pollution control and possess anti-lock breaking systems. There are certain smart cars ventures which have been launched for improving the level of intelligence.

The first Smart Cars were produced by the Swatch Swiss watch manufacturer. They wanted a very small cars that could be easy to drive and park in the crowded European cities. They also wanted the car to be cheap enough for young people to afford it. From 2006 onward, all the Smart models are being created and sold by the Mercedes-Benz automobile group.

In many parts of Europe the Smart Cars, especially the Fortwo model (as its name implies, it can carry only two passengers) was a success, while the Fortwo model was taken out of production recently.
